Not only are they incredibly insulating, but they also offer a level of comfort that is unparalleled. In fact, they might just be more sock than most people need! So why settle for ordinary socks when you can experience the exceptional quality and performance of our new American Field: Kodiak Edition socks?

Dominate the wilderness with the American Field Sock- Kodiak Edition! These socks are equipped with a terry loop padded foot bed, and over-plaited toes and heel for maximum comfort and support. Take on your outdoor adventures with confidence!

Despite the extra cushioning and tough construction, these performance designed socks are intended to be worn with footwear. They are not intended to be worn as house slippers. You certainly can, but wearing them on concrete and abrasive surfaces will impact wear.

Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

Extreme Gear Sock

I bought these socks for myself. I liked them so much, I ordered another pair to give as a gift. These socks are so wonderfully thick and warm. I love them 😊

Ultra heavy. but beware

These are super soft and HEAVY. I imagine they'll be extremely warm. But, the big but, they are so heavy I cannot wear them in any of my boots except my rubber boots they are so large and take up so much room. If your footwear is even remotely tight pass on these and get the regular trekker socks. They're also heavy but are more compatible with more footwear.

A hug for my feet and legs

I was looking for crew socks, but the boot socks were on sale and I decided to give them a try. As I slid my feet into a new pair on a cold morning while I was dressing for a day of ski flying and skiing. Oh MY!! my feet felt like they were getting a warm gentle hug all the way from my toes up my calves. These socks are SO soft and warm. And they have nice elastic most of the way up the leg portion, so they stay up all day. And they really do get softer after a couple washings. They look shrunk when I pulled them out of the dryer, but my feet slid right into them with no scrunching or crowding. These socks are perfect for wearing with boots of all kinds. Hiking, hunting, skiing, snowshoeing and working in the wood shed. Do yourself a favor and get some for all your cool weather activities.

Socks are fantastic. Made breaking in my new hiking boots painless (not the case when I tried other socks!)

Great Socks, Just Wish I could Dry Them

These are excellent boot socks. The lower foot fits very well and provides warmth (but not too warm) and good padding for heavier boots. The shaft doesn't sag, and keeps the top of my boots from rubbing. My only minor complaint is that because of the different fiber types, the boot socks need to air dry rather than go in the machine. Since I live in a very dry place, that's not a problem, but is is something that might be a difficulty for others.
