Go further, stay comfortable. Designed for long days hiking in extreme terrain and conditions. Easy on the foot, but tough on cold, sweat, heat, moisture. Slightly lighter weight than our Trekker socks, but still "Seriously warm-Surprisingly soft", our newest extreme sock, that will keep your feet warm and dry all winter long. Ultra-soft bison fiber that has been properly processed, no prickly itch from these socks. Thicker and more cushioning than our Pro-gear socks.

This sock has a terry loop padded footbed, and lighter ribbed construction all the way up the calf with just enough spandex to hold it above your 10" boot top...but not enough to cut down circulation. Nylon over-plaited in the toe and way up past the heel for long smooth wear.

Superior breathability, temperature regulation, and natural odor resistance!!

Sock Sizing

Socks should fit as well as any of your other garments. The heel should sit on your heel and not under it as in a sock too small, nor half way up your Achilles as in a sock that’s too large. Socks should be flush against your foot with no extra material sagging. The toe seam should lay flat across the top of the toes.

Sock Heel at Your Heel
The sock heel should sit on your heel, not under it or above it.

Flat Toe Seam
The toe seam should lie flat along the top of your toes, not above or below.

Taut Across the Foot
Socks should be taut across your foot with no sagging material. If you wear a wide shoe size (E+), consider sizing up.

Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

Warm and Comfortable!

Love these warm and comfortable socks. My feet get cold easily and these socks make all the difference!

My wife loves them!

I was hoping my wife would like these and find them warm. She loves them and said they are very warm and toasty. She went to your online store and just ordered two pairs of gloves. Thank you and we will be back!

Foot Tested, Dog Approved

These are not inexpensive socks, but they are high value socks. Thick and warm as promised. My dogs think they smell great too, and tried to use them as chew toys. Whoops. Well, I was going to order more anyway, so...

Very Warm and Soft

A little pricey, but very warm and soft. I tried one pair before washing and was a little scratchy on the leg. Foot base was very soft though. But…after a wash, inside out, washing machine, low heat in dryer - much more comfortable.
Overall highly recommended.

These are amazing!! Great company!

Great quality

These socks seem to be of superior quality and would indeed be warm. The compression; however, was too tight on my calf/ leg.

Arctic Blast Was No Match for These Socks

These socks were put to the test a couple of weeks ago. Temps dropped to sub zero but chores still had to be done - I donned these socks and my GoreTex hiking boots and my feet were comfortably warm for the entire hour I was outside. They were never sweaty. My only tip is order down. I wear a ladies size 9 and the small fits perfectly.
