Limited Edition socks, is that really a thing?    ... well, I guess it is now.   We struggled with a name, tried a contest, but nothing quite described these, but every one of our product testers came back with the exact same response. "These are really really nice"

Gift Boxed and ready to go.

200 pair of Large and 200 pair of medium available. These are a very special project we have spent the better part of a year on. It has been difficult keeping a lid on this, but we thought it would be a nice holiday treat.

We asked our friends at to make the finest bison yarn they have ever made, and they delivered. The bison fiber was dehaired in Peru to their extremely exacting standards.. less than 0.03% guard hair, then sent to Italy to be blended with super 200s ultra-soft merino wool and spun into a worsted yarn.

Then we asked our friends at Fox River Mills to make the finest sock they have ever made. We went through a lot of design work, and designed something we can confidently say is the best sock we have ever made.

This is the result. An extraordinarily soft and comfortable sock that is exceedingly durable, excessively wicking, and feels like slipping your foot into a cloud.

The specially designed 4 directional stretch panel on the back of the sock helps it stay in place perfectly (no sock slouch here) it also looks pretty cool.

Sock Sizing

Socks should fit as well as any of your other garments. The heel should sit on your heel and not under it as in a sock too small, nor half way up your Achilles as in a sock that’s too large. Socks should be flush against your foot with no extra material sagging. The toe seam should lay flat across the top of the toes.

Sock Heel at Your Heel
The sock heel should sit on your heel, not under it or above it.

Flat Toe Seam
The toe seam should lie flat along the top of your toes, not above or below.

Taut Across the Foot
Socks should be taut across your foot with no sagging material. If you wear a wide shoe size (E+), consider sizing up.

Best darn socks

Have bought numerous pairs of Buffalo Wool socks.
These truly are my "special socks"
Here in the Michigan northland, where bitter cold & snow reign supreme, really glad to have them!

Michele C. (Overland Park, US)
Best socks around, without question.

He had to have these. I’d have hesitated because they’re so pricey but I know how amazing all of the socks we’ve gotten from The Buffalo Wool Co have been. Like every other pair of every type of sock we’ve bought, these are amazing. He wears them to work outside, to hunt, sitting around the house. Hands down the best socks around. Worth every penny.

Loving these exceptional socks!

The fit and feel of these bison socks is luxurious. The cushioning is generous, so I hope to wear them this summer, tromping along the Hadrian's Way trail in England! I don't think bison ever lived in Brittannia, but I want to bring them there (at least, their hair)!

The Warmest and Comfiest

Absolutely love the socks I work outside track and do the snow, mud rain, everything cold weather, these are the best socks I have ever purchased!

Best socks ever!

This is my “go-to” Christmas present for friends and family. They are so soft, warm and comfortable. This year I bought them for my boyfriend but my basement flooded and I had to use them myself. So now I can testify that they are the warmest softest socks ever. They kept my feet warm while I was standing out in the cold for 10 hours. The boyfriend will have to wait another year!

Designed from the Ground Up

The Dearnley Family has been running S & D Spinning since the 1800s. This is one of the last large scale wool mills left in the U.S. and they are absolutely crucial to us keeping our production here in the U.S.
