    Balaclava Review

It’s very comfortable...it has just the right amount of stretch to go on easily yet remain snug, and it’s long enough to keep the base of my neck warm too!

    Warm material but poor design

Flimsy! The material is warm but the hat is too porous...even the slightest breeze goes through the fabric. Initially it would slide off my head when i used it rolled up, so i twice washed it in hot water and dried it to shrink it, which helped somewhat, but for $95 i would expect a closer knit and more elasticity to stay on my head, and i do have a large head. Go back to the drawing board please!

    Toasty Warm

Keeps me warm while walking during the frigid Michigan winter. Product does not itch which I also like! The only negative would be that it doesn’t cover my cheeks as much as I hoped.

    Great fit, very warm

I usually have problems with the fit of a lot of balaclava's, either they are too small for my face or too large. This one is just right leaving your face just enough space to keep my mouth and eyes clear, but keeping my forehead and chin warm. Like all the buffalo gear its comfortable, not itchy, and has enough give where it doesn't feel like a boa constrictor on your head. You can buy lighter weight or heavier weight depending on how cold the weather is that you need it for. Great quality cold weather gear.

    Balaclava

Bought this for my wife who has been walking in our neighborhood in temperatures in the teens. She loves it. Better than expected.

    All you need. Usually.

The bison down extreme gear balaclava is all you need on a cold day, as long as the wind isn't blowing. If it is, you might need two of them, or else a scarf and a beanie cap to go with the balaclava. The Buffalo Wool Company's balaclava is definitely superior to a cheap one made from acrylic.
