Care Instructions

Machine wash or handwash, lay flat to dry

Once you are ready to clean your gear, follow a few simple steps to care for your favorite socks, beanie, and gloves.

How to Care for your favorite bison fiber gear

Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

Super warm and soft

Love this beanie! I haven’t had a chance to wear it in cold weather yet, but just trying it on at home I can tell that it’s super warm. Also very lightweight and soft! The ribbing is very stretchy and can fit a variety of head sizes. Bonus - it’s even baby approved (which is a big plus because when she inevitably yanks off her own hat, I’ll have a built in backup)!

We love these beanies and have begun to gift them to friends and family!

Amazingly personalized customer service!

When one is instructed to “call Ron” with questions or issues requiring customer service and Ron answers the phone immediately and without voice mail prompts - this is a make of an exceptional company.

Always darned questions.

Still not sure how your product is sourced but the buffalo and and the original Americans were closest to the land before we started poisoning everything
to make it better. Did we really improve the land or just rearrange it to make dollars?

If it’s anything like my extreme balaclava, extreme fingered and fingerless gloves I will love it. Don’t know why I didn’t order the beanie when I ordered the other items but, here I am. Quality, long lasting products, wonderful people, and excellent customer service! If you spend time out in 30° F weather down to the negatives like I do, there is nothing better to keep you warm.

I was looking for a cap to keep my head warm

I was looking for a cap to keep my head warm. All the other ones were great until the temperature dropped below 30 and then my ears started freezing. Finally got this one and it’s no longer an issue.

Ultra high quality, as anticipated. Very warm and comfortable. The colder temp with high wind didn’t stand a chance! Excellent sizing. Zero scratchiness. Now, a black color version is high up on my list. The perfect Winter beanie.

Great

Very light, very warm. Superbly comfortable. Not tight and itchy like others I’ve tried. Exceptionally pleased with this purchase.

Warm Comfortable and Durable.

The cap is well- made, and the bison wool is as usual comfortable and warm. I have worn it. In cold, wet and snowy weather thus far, and it did the job each time. Bravo.

Great hat

Not worth almost $80

I have other wool hats that are as good if not better for a third of the price. I was surprised on how thin the wool was.

Extreme Beanie

Just bought this Beanie a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. I can’t believe how warm it is and it has been in the negatives up here for the last week. Going to try the gloves hope they are just as good. Thank you for a great product.

Extra warm beanie: tactical warmth force multiplier!

Today here in Wyoming we had a minus 9 (Fahrenheit) wind chill. A good day to test out the Extreme Bison Beanie. It was very warm, exponentially warmer than most big outdoor brands knit beanies ( which are also mostly made in China unlike this USA made bison beanie ). My head and ears were very comfortable despite the sub zero wind chill. It fit very well on my large head with plenty of length to have a nice doubled over cuff to keep my ears warm. The natural bison color is really nice as well. I was surprised at how light in weight the beanie is which speaks highly of the superior thermal qualities of bison vs other fibers. The Ribbed Extreme Bison Beanie is a really great toque, woolie, watch cap or beanie ( no matter what name you use for it!). for any outdoor person. I will likely be wearing this a lot when hunting, hiking, Nordic skiing or any other cold weather outdoor activity. Because it is so light and compressible you can stash it in the picket of your jacket and if suddenly the weather gets colder you have what I call a “tactical warmth force multiplier”, meaning that for such little size and weight you get an incredible amount of warmth with this garment.

Very warm

I used the gloves and hat in the treestand a few times this season and they were great. The fingerless gloves allowed me to handle my bow but still stay warm.

It should have been thicker

It seemed thin to me for the money.

Best Beanie Ever

I bought the ribbed extreme bison beanie for my husband and he loves it! He said his head stayed warm the whole time he was outside clearing the foot of snow we just got over the weekend.

Extreme Bison Beanie

Temperatures have dipped to 23 degrees and so far the beanie has been warm, this from one with little hair. Comfort wise, not scratchy, feels comfortable wearing for few hours. All in all I’d give the beanie 5 stars. Thanks much!

Best winter hat I’ve ever owned

I’ve had wool hats when I was a kid but they itched a lot and my mom shrunk them once in a while. But buffalo is so much better than plain old wool like we used to have. Thank you.

The Beanie

I took my bison beanie on my moose hunt in Alaska. It was so cold at night that I ended up sleeping with the beanie on to keep warm. I would wake up cold when it slipped off my head. Thanks for keeping me warm on Alaska’s cold nights!

Love your bison wool beanies.

I’ve been a fan of your bison wool caps for many years. I wear mine every day during cold weather. Although my original bison wool beanie has withstood constant wear extremely well, I wanted a backup so ordered three more recently. Gave one to a dear friend (greater love hath no man….) and am keeping the other two in reserve. Perhaps this tells you how much I appreciate your making these head warmers available. Thank you!!
