How to use the conditioner.

Short answer:  Wet the leather a little, apply conditioner, let dry, buff with soft cloth.

More detailed answer..

To achieve a refined and polished finish on the leather, I followed a detailed process to ensure optimal conditioning and a luxurious feel. Initially, I prepared the leather by thoroughly wetting it with clean water. This step is crucial as it opens up the leather’s fibers, making them more receptive to absorbing the conditioner. Using a soft, lint-free cloth, I applied water evenly across the surface, ensuring the leather was uniformly damp but not overly saturated.Next, I selected a high-quality beeswax/tallow-based leather conditioner, which contains natural waxes and oils designed to nourish and protect the leather. I applied a generous amount of the conditioner to both sides of the leather, using circular motions to work it deeply into the material. To enhance absorption, I rubbed the conditioner vigorously, generating friction and heat. This heat helped to "melt" the conditioner, allowing it to penetrate the leather’s fibers more effectively, much like the process of burnishing the edges of a leather wallet to achieve a smooth, polished look. I paid special attention to areas that appeared particularly dry or worn, ensuring even coverage.

After applying the conditioner, I allowed the leather to air dry for several hours, giving the conditioner time to fully settle into the fibers. Once the leather was completely dry, I took a clean scrap of cloth—cut from an old, soft cotton bath towel—and began buffing both sides of the leather with firm, rapid strokes. This vigorous buffing generated additional heat, which reactivated the wax content in the conditioner, melting it slightly and enhancing the leather’s natural sheen. I worked in small sections, applying consistent pressure to ensure a uniform finish.

The result was a beautifully polished surface with a rich, glossy shine, thanks to the wax in the conditioner reflecting light. The leather’s texture transformed dramatically—no longer dry, stiff, or papery, it now felt supple, smooth, and luxurious to the touch. This process not only revitalized the leather’s appearance but also restored its flexibility and durability, leaving it looking and feeling exceptional.
