Insulated Bison Chopper Mittens

When I lent my old deerskin/fleece-lined mittens to a friend of mine, one of them got lost and the Buffalo Wool chopper mittens are very similar but much higher quality. Durable, warm, attractive, and made in the US (something very important to me). The only mittens I'll ever own (and I won't be lending!).

I bought these for my husband, who's a hunter, and out in all kinds of weather. I love the leather outer, and the fact that they're made in the USA, but I do not love the inner material. I was expecting a better quality of shearling; it seems thin and flimsy, and doesn't match the quality of the leather. I've been a professional seamstress for almost 20 years, so I know quality fabric/product when I see/feel it. For that reason only, I'm giving these 4 stars.

Great mittens. I gave them to my family members for Christmas. Every one loves them. This year I remembered to get a pair for myself. Last year I bought your Buffalo gloves for my relatives but neglected to get a pair for myself. I have been buying your years. I love your Buffalo six , they keep my feet real warm at football games

We live in the high country and 2 days after I received these, we had a snowstorm. Husband, being an inveterate hiker with his hiking group, tried them out and said they were great and that his cold hands weren’t. Can’t ask for more than that!

Nice rough out mittens.
Expect them to shed small scraps of annoying leather bits all over everything.
This is normal.
Wish they extended up the forearm several inches but they don’t, they cover the wrist but not by much.
Bought the biggest size I could get to wear over the fingerless bison wool gloves, they fit but barely.
Hopefully they will loosen with use.
Pretty much impossible to waterproof rough out leather but they are not designed for wet conditions.
We will see how they handle an Alaskan winter.
I expect they will serve their intended purpose well.
