    Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

I got both of the balaclavas for different applications. This one has allowed me to get out in single digit temperatures paired with 30-45 MPH gusts with ease. Very good heat conductor, allowing for instant warmth on contact. I’m using this one for low temperatures, cold windy days, and low activity days. For snowboarding and high activity, I tend to use the silk/bison balaclava instead. Great for anyone who gets cold easily or spends a lot of time outside in single digit temps. I could see it being great for hunting or bird watching in cold temps. Pictured are both balaclavas color options and my friend before and after shoveling snow off of boats. He didn’t even know icicles were growing off of him- he was very toasty!
