Seriously warm. Surprisingly soft, and not made from Reindeer...

just bison and silk and we dyed them Red for fun and festivities.

Limited Edition

Our Pro-Gear Technical Bison and Silk Boot Socks have all the special features to fit your boot needs. We created a sock from Bison down and silk that will keep your feet warm and dry all winter long.

This sock has a terry loop cushioned footbed, vented and structured instep for a smooth fit, terry loop 4" x 4" shin pad and just enough spandex to hold it above your 12" boot top...but not enough to cut down circulation. Nylon over-plaited in the toe and way up past the heel for long smooth wear. Seriously warm. Surprisingly soft. The perfect sock for your ski boots, heavy winter snow boots or city rain boots. You will feel the difference that bison can make in your socks.

  • Mid-calf boot style / 12" from heel
  • 4" x 4" Shin pad on the front of the leg cushions lace-up boots or ski boots
  • Reinforced toe
  • Extended padded and reinforced heel zone
  • Smooth flat toe seam
  • Vented side panel
  • Padded on the bottom of the foot
  • Contoured rib top & stretched ribbing
  • Arch and ankle compression support
  • The bison on the toe indicates the size (photo shows a large); small-brown, medium-yellow, large-blue, xlarge-red

Sock Sizing

Socks should fit as comfortably as any other garment. The heel should rest on your heel—not under it (as with a sock that’s too small) or halfway up your Achilles (as with a sock that’s too large). The sock should be snug against your foot with no sagging fabric. The toe seam should lie flat across the top of your toes.

Sock Heel at Your Heel
The heel of the sock should sit directly on your heel, not above or below it.

Flat Toe Seam
The toe seam should lay flat along the top of your toes, not above or below them.

Taut Across the Foot
Socks should fit snugly across your foot without any sagging material. If you wear wide shoes (E+), consider sizing up. If you wear a wide shoe size (E+), consider sizing up.

How to Care for your favorite bison fiber gear

Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do. All composition percentages are based on material weight. Synthetic reinforcement and elastic threads often weigh more than natural fibers.

of course they are wonderful!

of course they are wonderful! all of the bison socks i’ve bought for myself and my husband are wonderful — they are the ONLY socks we wear any more. but these are my favorites, a deep gorgeous red, a little hit of brightness in an otherwise too-often drab world, thanks, you-all❣️

Red Bison Boot Socks

I wore them first time yesterday, temps 22 F, snow on the ground. Socks are slightly thicker than I normally wear, extremely soft, warm and comfortable. I love these socks for extreme temps and comfort.

Better Than Expected!

Reviews for BWC seem, to me, a bit rhetorical; They are of the highest quality and the gold standard for comfort. That's it, enough said. Got it?!

Chicken Lady

Perfect gift for the Chicken Lady in my life. She absolutely loves these socks and reminds me as she’s suiting up for the Michigan winter to go take care of the chickens how much she appreciates the warm and the cool color. Highly recommended.

Better than ever boot socks . . .

Not our first rodeo, nor our first red Buffalo Wool socks. As always, an outstanding value/quality, delivered quickly, for Christmas for a new pair of boots. First washing, Dianne found all her red stuff, I hid all my white tee shirts, and life is good.

Red Pro gear socks

Love the feel and warmth of the these socks. The support in the foot bed is great. They fit snug which makes it a little tight for wider feet or for those with neuropathy pain but the support is worth the struggle. Only wish is they were available in the no shows and an ankle length. My men don't like any sock up to the calf 😞
