Why Should You Wear Compression Socks?
Before you fine folks started requesting compression socks, we had never tried them. Well, color us impressed. We found our OTC Compression Socks to provide all-day leg support and circulation keeping our feet and legs from swelling. But, don’t just take our word for it. Here are some leading expert reasons why compression socks are the right fit.
Compression Socks increase healthy pressure on your skin and tissue.
If you’re taking a long flight or patiently waiting in your hunting blind, compression socks can help maintain circulation during periods of less movement. That means less discomfort and potential swelling in your legs and feet.
Graduated compression can aid in recovery from heavy physical activity.
Whether you are an avid runner, cyclist, snowmobiler or fisher, graduated compression socks have shown to help recovery from heavy activity. Graduated compression improves blood circulation, which in turn speeds the removal of lactic acid and increases oxygen to the blood.
Most Common Use Cases for Compression Socks
We’re certainly hooked on the benefits of our OTC Compression Socks for everyday wear while working, but in case you need more inspiration, here are a few of our favorite use cases for these amazing socks.
- Long fishing excursions
- Flying to and fro
- Skiing or Snowmobiling (bonus - our OTCs are also incredibly warm)
- Long sitting spells while hunting
Socks should fit as well as any of your other garments. The heel should sit on your heel and not under it as in a sock too small, nor half way up your Achilles as in a sock that’s too large. Socks should be flush against your foot with no extra material sagging. The toe seam should lay flat across the top of the toes.
Sock Heel at Your Heel
The sock heel should sit on your heel, not under it or above it.
Flat Toe Seam
The toe seam should lie flat along the top of your toes, not above or below.
Taut Across the Foot
Socks should be taut across your foot with no sagging material. If you wear a wide shoe size (E+), consider sizing up.

Once you are ready to clean your gear, follow a few simple steps to care for your favorite socks, beanie, and gloves. How to Care for your favorite bison fiber gear
Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.
The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

These socks are a miracle. Been wearing them pretty much since Ron brought them to market
Came back to town for a routine medical test. Found myself in a much worse spot and having compression socks required by my doctor. All mine in another state
Ron came from Weatherford all the way to Arlington-on Memorial Day-to hand deliver a couple of pairs. Wow
What can I say.
Thank you Ron
I look forward to doing business with this company always. His passion and compassion shows
I never knew it was possable to fall in love with a pair of socks. These socks are extremely comfy even in the heat of South Texas. The only issue I have is that they are a little tight on my calf, but I am sure the is because they need to be broken into. I can’t wait to get more.
Like the title says. These aren't as tight as the 20-30mm medical grade runner socks which is good since it makes them easier to put on and take off. These OTC socks give you all day compression for multiple activities and adventures. Bought 4 pair and my legs and feet are more than happy.
I love your compression socks. Theyre true to size, comfortable and have just the right amount of squeeze. I have 2 pair n will get more.
I wasn't sure I could wear these socks until I talked to Ron (his calf is several inches larger than mine!) so I tried the seconds. WOW! Like walking on a cushion of air & no sweaty feet in 90 degree west Texas spring weather. The compression works so well, my feet & legs swell very little any more. Thank goodness for the seconds!
So I ordered another pair of seconds (the natural was gone but I got a PINK pair!) & liked both so well I ordered a 3 pack of natural. Now the original 2 pair don't have to be washed as often. I also have a pair of the Kenai Boot socks but they aren't compression so I will probably give them to my son. Thanks for a great product!
These compression socks are so comfortable and warm. Many compression socks are a challenge to pull over the foot, but these are stretchy enough to go on easily (relatively easy that is - still need to work at it a little bit, which is what you'd desire in a compression sock), but still maintain good compression. They've really helped with my plantar fasciitis.
Keeps my feet warm at work and substitutes for the OTC socks I’ve worn for years but didn’t keep my feet warm. 👍
