When you need more protection, our full fingered bison down gloves are lightweight, warm and durable. Stay warm and comfortable under the harshest circumstances. Combed from the insulating, downy undercoat of the American Bison, until you put these on, it's hard to believe their ultra-soft comfort and lightweight warmth. Bison Down is harvested from buffalo in Colorado and South Dakota then finely knit for maximum warmth with minimum bulk.

These gloves are super lightweight, and allow for maximum dexterity, are durable, absorb moisture without feeling damp, and retain body heat extremely well.

Bison fiber has no lanolin, which many people are allergic to. Machine washable.

Satisfaction Guaranteed: NO FINE PRINT! If you don't truly love them, send them back. 100% money back. These are expensive gloves, and if they don't work for you for whatever reason, you shouldn't be stuck with them.  We have been selling these for over eleven years now, at hunting shows, and fishing events across the country, and have made this promise to everyone we have ever sold a pair to. - Ron Miskin.

Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

Not so extreme/let down

My partner got me a pair of these for my 37th birthday and I was stoked. Took them out on a cross country ski and within minutes of getting on the trail the face of the gloves began to pill, a lot. I know they’re more of liner glove but such a disappointment when it comes to a $100 pair of gloves. Love these guys and we get something from them every August at the Alaska State fair but I’m actually sad about these gloves.

Nice fit/true to size

Nice fit and true to size. Just had an issue on the index part. There’s a loose knit…Can it be fix/repair?

Finally! Warm comfortable gloves ;-)

I wear these gloves everyday. I bought cashmere gloves from Naadam.com. and use them as liners for my Buffalo down gloves. This combo is so awesome in the cold weather waiting for the bus in Minnesota! I feel happiness everytime I put them on my hands.

Best Gloves Ever

Hands down the best Gloves I have ever owned. I just finished field testing it over a 2 week trip to the Arctic in Northern Alaska. I carried these gloves, mittens from Black Diamond, Aerogel gloves from Outdoor Research & some liners. Didn't use any of the others during the entire trip. Temp on many days were ranging from -10 to -25F with wind chill & my hands were toasty warm over 90% of the time. The few times it got a little cold (nothing so uncomfortable) I just put my hands back in my jacket pocket & somehow miraculously these gloves and my hands warm up super fast (I was pleasantly surprised at the speed with which these warm up). I did use hand warmers on 2 (out of 13) incredibly cold days but for the rest these gloves were surprisingly more than enough. I even got into some snowball fights with these gloves and my fingers were still warm and toasty.

Great gloves

Just spent 5 days driving a snowmobile up and down the Yukon river and these gloves were the only thing I wore on my hands the entire time. Although I had big fur mittens I didn’t need them even though the temperatures were hovering around 0 and the wind was wicked. I did have handlebar gauntlets on the sled but even so they are impressive. I’m on my third pair now and will continue to buy more as needed!

No more cold fingers!

Bought these gloves for a trip to the mountains of Colorado. Can’t believe how cozy warm they are. My fingertips are always cold but not in these gloves. Bought a pair for me and my husband and we both love them.

Bison Down Gloves (mediums)

I’ve taken them mushing at -20F and in addition to being warm on their own they warmed up in my beaver mitts up super fast! Tough gloves that are also warm and soft. I love them!

Excellent gloves

Excellent gloves. Super warm and great quality.

Overall very nice gloves.

A little itchy, like there were some coarse fibers mixed with the longer staple length, but overall, very comfortable. Haven't truly put them to the test in cold weather, but they seem a balance of insulative and breathable. Wrist was looser and longer, which I think is the best compromise in design for comfort and functional warmth.

Perfect! Extremely warm!

I slid them inside my Vermont Glove work gloves and compared them to the merino wool Vermont Glove liners- it wasn’t nearly cold enough. The wind starts biting through and keeping my hands cold with the merino liners at about 20-30 degrees, as liners. These buffalo wool ones would probably go down to 0 and be fine. Haven’t tested it yet and i don’t know if it will get that cold again where I am at. But I am extemely pleased with these gloves.

Love them!

These gloves are my new favorite! I do not have great circulation, and my hands get super cold when walking my dog. So, I actually wear these inside another pair of gloves for the best way to stay warm. I purchased a small, and they fit well, but if an x-small had been available, it would have been the perfect fit.

These are the best!!!

Wyoming has bitter cold with wind during the winter. Have tried insulated gloves but they never keep my fingers warm. Finally got a chance to try them with -11 degrees and a 15 mph breeze - my fingers stayed warm!! My arthritis thanks you. Exceptional quality and worth every penny.

Warmest gloves ever

I wear the extreme gear bison gloves inside a leather shell (Hestra Wakayama gloves or mittens). My hands are toasty warm-even in single digit temperatures with high winds.
Bison is twice as warm as merino wool.

Extreme Gear Gloves

Gloves are great. The only thing I would like to see is maybe a little thicker for more warmth. Very comfortable for upper to mid 30's though.

Used in Alaska

Visited family in Alaska. Being from Texas not quite accustomed to the winter Alaska has to offer. These gloves kept my hands and fingers warmer than the winter gloves I bought from a large box store.
Awesome Products at Buffalo Wool Co.

not very warm

ok, so these gloves aren’t especially warm - can say the same thing about the extreme stocking hats, nice looking but not anywhere near worth the price.
