      Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do. All composition percentages are based on material weight. Synthetic reinforcement and elastic threads often weigh more than natural fibers.

      Warm as advertised

Took the bike out this AM , temp was 30 light wind.
Was planning a short 20 m ride , however the balaclava (lighter one) was warm enough to stay out for an hour . Head and ears were pleasantly warm , not scratchy at all, fit well under helmet.Suspect 10 degrees cooler or moderate wind would require the
      heavier one .
      Can strongly recommend it.

      Awesome Protection from the Cold

Warm, soft, comfortable, your extreme gear balaclava has it all! I purchased it as a Christmas gift for my husband, he loves it! Here in NW Wisconsin January temperatures often fall well into double digits below zero. Your balaclava stands up to the snow, wind and brutal cold, and does it in comfort. Thank you for your products, they’re awesome!

Keeps my bald head warm in Alaska

Got this product in December. Here I am on Christmas 2018 while out for a walk with our dog. My head was beyond toasty. Look forward to many years of wear in the Alaskan wilderness.

Every winter I have wanted a full mask for warmth

Every winter I have wanted a full mask for warmth and every year I put off buying it. Until this year! Now, after buying socks from thebuffalowoolco and enjoying the great quality of the products, I bought this full mask of buffalo wool. I can say that it is soo soft! I look forward to being prepared for the coldness next time! I highly recommend this product.

Soft and, hopefully as warm as I expect. Price was good and I love the inclusion of how to care for the material.
I expect to have much use of this and the gloves

Great for Wearing When Plowing Snow

Didn't order it in time for the -20 days, but there was still snow to plow when it arrived and DH said it worked so much better than the combo of hats, cowls and scarves he had been using. He would definitely recommend it!

Warm and dry in the Freezing Snow!

Most of you know what I'm talking about-you HAVE to go out in the frigid, blowing weather, whether you want to or not. Farms, jobs, fun-you will not mind going outside while wearing this Full Head Mask-it will keep you warm & dry. I just got a few strange looks from our farm animals, but they didn't mind not being able to see my full mug. LOL

      Absolutely the Best!

Goose hunting, nothing even comes close. Light, warm, snug and comfortable. A great product and excellent design - fully functional (and easy to keep clean, too).

Great for a little added warmth

Bought this balaclava for added warmth during early Spring and late Autumn hunting. It fits well under caps and hoods. Some fleece balaclavas are too dense and thick to wear under headgear. The color does a great job of hiding my white hair.

      Heavy Balaclava

Got this rig near the end (we think) of the Nebraska hats cold so my testing isn’t yet exhaustive. Having said that, on a few am walks probably 0-20ish maybe it proved to be plenty warm. The fit is a bit tight when worn the whole way down but it’s new so I figure it’ll stretch out some. Can’t wait for next deer season to really test it but if it’s like other buffalo wool products I’ve purchased from you guys I’m sure it won’t disappoint.

      Balaclava

This balaclava got the approval of an Alaskan dog musher. Warm and comfortable.

Balaclava thick use for winter motorcycle riding under modular helmet. Replaces a wool/nylon. It is way warmer. Rode in this morning 24 degrees at 70 mph. My face and neck have never been this warm. Money well spent. Thanks

      Balaclava

The weather isn’t cold enough yet for me to test out my balaclava, but the fit is perfect and it’s super cozy. I’m ready to take on winter now!

      Warmest balaclava ever

You can really tell the craftsmanship put into this. I went with the lighter weight of the two and it fits perfectly under my helmet.

      Balaclava Review

It’s very comfortable...it has just the right amount of stretch to go on easily yet remain snug, and it’s long enough to keep the base of my neck warm too!

      Warm material but poor design

Flimsy! The material is warm but the hat is too porous...even the slightest breeze goes through the fabric. Initially it would slide off my head when i used it rolled up, so i twice washed it in hot water and dried it to shrink it, which helped somewhat, but for $95 i would expect a closer knit and more elasticity to stay on my head, and i do have a large head. Go back to the drawing board please!

      Toasty Warm

Keeps me warm while walking during the frigid Michigan winter. Product does not itch which I also like! The only negative would be that it doesn’t cover my cheeks as much as I hoped.

      Great fit, very warm

I usually have problems with the fit of a lot of balaclava's, either they are too small for my face or too large. This one is just right leaving your face just enough space to keep my mouth and eyes clear, but keeping my forehead and chin warm. Like all the buffalo gear its comfortable, not itchy, and has enough give where it doesn't feel like a boa constrictor on your head. You can buy lighter weight or heavier weight depending on how cold the weather is that you need it for. Great quality cold weather gear.

      All you need. Usually.

The bison down extreme gear balaclava is all you need on a cold day, as long as the wind isn't blowing. If it is, you might need two of them, or else a scarf and a beanie cap to go with the balaclava. The Buffalo Wool Company's balaclava is definitely superior to a cheap one made from acrylic.

      Warm head gear

Fits well and is plenty warm for Canadian winters. Bonus is it’s not itchy on the face.

      Excellent quality and performance

I've ordered a beanie and gloves over the years for casual use and hunting. I just ordered the heavy balaclava for wearing in the woods in February. Buffalo wool hasn't let me down once after several seasons of hunting in very cold weather.
