Surprisingly soft, Seriously Warm.
This is our big boy, our heaviest, most insulating, andmost wicking sock, likely the warmest sock on the planet (excepting electric, but those are silly)
It is a calf-high sock, great for your taller boots, very thick, quite soft, and well built. Will keep your feet warm and dry all winter long. Ultra-soft bison fiber that has been properly processed, there is no prickly itch from these socks. Thicker and more cushioning than our Pro-gear socks.
This sock has a terry loop padded foot bed, and terry loop gentle ribbed construction all the way up the calf with just enough spandex to hold it above your 12" boot top...but not enough to cut down circulation. Nylon over-plaited in the toe and way up past the heel for long smooth wear.
**This is a performance sock designed to go inside footwear. Not intended to be worn as house slippers.** not saying you can't, but wearing them on concrete and abrasive surfaces will impact wear.
We gave a pair of our Trekker boot socks to survival expert Leon Pantenburg, and here is his review.
Socks should fit as well as any of your other garments. The heel should sit on your heel and not under it as in a sock too small, nor half way up your Achilles as in a sock that’s too large. Socks should be flush against your foot with no extra material sagging. The toe seam should lay flat across the top of the toes.
Sock Heel at Your Heel
The sock heel should sit on your heel, not under it or above it.
Flat Toe Seam
The toe seam should lie flat along the top of your toes, not above or below.
Taut Across the Foot
Socks should be taut across your foot with no sagging material. If you wear a wide shoe size (E+), consider sizing up.

Trekker Bison/Merino Boot Socks
My shoe size is 9.5. Based on your description of how the Trekker sox should fit, the large size I got last year are too big, but the heel and toe stayed in place in my Lacrosse Alpha Burly insulated boots just fine through last year's hunting season. The medium ones I just got seem just a little tighter than what you describe as optimum. I have not tried them yet, but I believe they will work perfectly.
seriously, he did. he had a ton of socks of indeterminate ages, his socks drawer was so stuffed it wouldn't close any more! then a couple of years ago i started giving him various kinds of Bison socks, and he quit wearing anything else. we are shepherds and he also does herding training for people and their dogs, so he's out in the fields in all weathers and is VERY hard on socks. these wonderful Bison socks are the ONLY ones he can't wear out immediately! the Bison/merino combination is fantastic, soft and comfortable but as strong and long-lasting as any of the others. try them, you'll be throwing out all of your other socks too!
These socks are great! Super warm and TALL! They're thick but didn't give Mr any issues with circulation and kept me pretty comfortable in cold temperatures.
Positive wicking and good insulation properties. Comfortable all day long.
I love my trekker socks, they are super warm, comfortable, and they wear like iron! I wear them for deer hunting/ prolonged sits in cold n.y. weather, and ice fishing as well. No cold feet, these socks are simply the best I've ever had!
My husband commented that though these were thicker than the Pro-Gear Technical - Bison/Silk Crew Socks he usually wears, the toes didn't seem as warm. He prefers the Bison/Silk for warmth.
The socks from this company are the warmest socks I have ever worn. I have seven pairs and wear them every day in the fall and winter.
