Surprisingly Soft and Seriously Warm

Our Trekker Boot Socks are our heaviest, most insulating, and most wicking sock. We’re sure these are likely the warmest socks on the planet. Well, the warmest that aren’t electric but they are silly and pretty impractical!

Trekker Boot Socks = Workhorse Gear

Designed to be your go-to extra heavyweight boot sock, our Trekkers are extremely thick, quite soft, and well built. Created with ultra-soft bison fiber, these socks are thicker and more cushioning than our Pro-gear socks. We use only properly processed bison fiber that is 100% free from stuff that will make the socks itchy or abrasive.

Our Trekkers feature a terry loop padded foot bed and are over-plaited in the toe, heel, and slightly up the leg to make sure your feet will be comfortable all day long.

Despite the extra cushioning and tough construction, these performance designed socks are intended to be worn with footwear. They are not intended to be worn as house slippers. You certainly can, but wearing them on concrete and abrasive surfaces will impact wear.

Trekker Boot Socks are awesome, but don’t just take our word for it!

We gave a pair of our Trekker boot socks to survival expert Leon Pantenburg, and here is his review

Trekker Bison/Merino Boot Sock Features

Looking for a quick TLDR on the Trekkers? Then look no further. Here’s a quick list of the top features of the Trekker Boot Socks.

  • USA Made
  • Terry looped footbed with extra padding
  • Reinforced toe and heel
  • Flat seam toe
  • Boot Socks measuring 12 inches from heel (perfect to hold above your boot top)
  • Features Bison logo on toe

Sock Sizing

Socks should fit as well as any of your other garments. The heel should sit on your heel and not under it as in a sock too small, nor half way up your Achilles as in a sock that’s too large. Socks should be flush against your foot with no extra material sagging. The toe seam should lay flat across the top of the toes.

Sock Heel at Your Heel
The sock heel should sit on your heel, not under it or above it.

Flat Toe Seam
The toe seam should lie flat along the top of your toes, not above or below.

Taut Across the Foot
Socks should be taut across your foot with no sagging material. If you wear a wide shoe size (E+), consider sizing up.

How to Care for your favorite bison fiber gear

Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

Yarn Base Composition

50% American bison down / 50% Merino wool

Trekker - Advantage Gear Boot Socks

Worth every penny

I’m a Harley guy, I wore these socks in the beating rain under my red winds the other day, rode for a solid five hours. My boots were soaked through. And so were my not legs , but my feet were warm (but not sweating ) and dry and very comfortable. I’m a person who is extremely particular about gear , and I enjoy one time purchases. Which these definitely are. Would recommend to anyone who’s serious about outdoor activities… or just being a baller with bison socks.

Luxurious feel in heavy socks

These are the most comfortable heavy socks I’ve ever worn. They keep my feet warm even in the freezing conditions in a duck blind or back country skiing. They are comfortable even in moderate weather conditions. The buffalo down blend is luxurious!

They’re pricey, but well worth it.

Good Quality but not worth the price

First of all dont expect these to be soft by any means because they definitely are not. However, they seem to be very very good quality. Just not really worth the price for me.

Awesome Socks for Alaska Fishing

No more cold toes!!! I bought two pair of the Trekker socks for our annual six day Alaska fishing trip. When my socks arrived, my husband asked that I order him two pair also. We are both in our 70s and have tried a variety of other wool socks for our prior fishing trips and have always had cold toes. Not this year- not with these socks!! Both of us highly recommend them.

The Dearnley Family has been running S & D Spinning since the 1800s. This is one of the last large scale wool mills left in the U.S. and they are absolutely crucial to us keeping our production here in the U.S.
