First impressions, this beanie is way lighter then I would of expected. The few days I wore it, it was just as warm as my other merino wool beanies. Being spring in Wisconsin it can go from 55 one day and snow the next. This beanie was a nice piece of gear to have around. Seems to have all the same qualities as my old wool hats but at 1/3 the weight. They definitely have me looking at a second purchase.
I lied. I actually bought the other color too. It’s warm and breathes well. Plus, it’s lightweight. It also holds its shape well.
After using the buffalo wool gloves and neck gaiter for steelheading all winter in the snow and rain, I'm sold on buffalo wool. It is softer and warmer than regular wool and is absolutely astonishing in its ability to stay warm even when wet. I probably won't take this beanie off until August. Best hat ever.
Light and warm, can’t beat it!
Hat runs big, tried to shrink it a little in wash. Wind definitely whips through it. Couldn’t wear it on a cold Alaska winter walk but will be good for fall temps and early spring. Really wanted this though wish for warm option for women’s smaller heads.
I give it 5 stars!!!
This is a super soft and warm hat. Great for the cold and snowy days in the Chicagoland area. No regrets on this purchase
I received my Bison Beanie just in time to go to the Klondike Campout with our scouting troop. The Bison Beanie helped to keep me warm and more comfortable on a cold & rainy day. And really appreciated it during the ridiculously cold weather we had, including spending the night in a tent, sub-zero, so my scout could get a clear bead!
