I usually have problems with the fit of a lot of balaclava's, either they are too small for my face or too large. This one is just right leaving your face just enough space to keep my mouth and eyes clear, but keeping my forehead and chin warm. Like all the buffalo gear its comfortable, not itchy, and has enough give where it doesn't feel like a boa constrictor on your head. You can buy lighter weight or heavier weight depending on how cold the weather is that you need it for. Great quality cold weather gear.
Bought this for my wife who has been walking in our neighborhood in temperatures in the teens. She loves it. Better than expected.
Warm comfortable, don't interfere with your range of motion or operating machinery.
The bison down extreme gear balaclava is all you need on a cold day, as long as the wind isn't blowing. If it is, you might need two of them, or else a scarf and a beanie cap to go with the balaclava. The Buffalo Wool Company's balaclava is definitely superior to a cheap one made from acrylic.
Fits well and is plenty warm for Canadian winters. Bonus is it’s not itchy on the face.
I've ordered a beanie and gloves over the years for casual use and hunting. I just ordered the heavy balaclava for wearing in the woods in February. Buffalo wool hasn't let me down once after several seasons of hunting in very cold weather.
It washes well. It is warm. It looks good. What more could you ask for?
I bought the extreme gloves and full head mask for a deer hunt last fall in northern Alberta. Without a doubt, ounce for ounce, these are the warmest pieces of gear that I own. So good that I bought a back up set in case something happened to my first set because I will never be without my Buffalo Wool again!
