by James Willard Schultz.   Memories of Life among the Indians.

A fur trader from 1878-1904, Shultz married a Pikuni (Blackfoot) woman, became a member of the tribe, and was  give the Blackfoot name Apikuni.

He had a gift for communication and has been called a "master of storytelling in the Indian style"

The book talks about the demise of the buffalo and it's repercussions on the Blackfeet particularly.  From there, Schultz realizes that life must move on, in spite of the devastation, if one is to exist at all.  Excellent historical read.
