WE ARE THE KREMERS.
WE ARE BUFFALO RANCHERS.
We are Chad and Suzi Kremer, we’ve been working with buffalo for nearly 30 years. We are a family owned operation in the eastern foothills of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. It started with us, but our three kids, Hannah, Grace, Isaac and son-in-law, Matt are also involved in the business.
I, Chad, started working with buffalo out of college, where I originally had plans to be a landscape designer. But, once I was introduced to these creatures, I was hooked. My friends call me the Buffalo Whisperer. I don’t know about that, but I do have my ways to connect with them. We have a mutual respect.
We raise our bison ethically, treat them humanely and love how they do their part to restore the prairie. Just like nature’s design. They are strong, smart and maybe a little beligerent at times, but we love them. Although, they are wild animals and command our respect, this is something we have learned from working with them for nearly 30 years.
There’s something about being around these majestic creatures that’s hard to put into words, so come see us, we’d love to show you around and let you see them for yourself.
HUMANELY RAISING BUFFALO
FOR OVER 30 YEARS.
At Kremer Buffalo, we raise our buffalo ethically, treat them humanely and love how they do their part to restore the prairie. We respect the buffalo and respect their incredible history. All our bison are antibiotic and growth hormone free. They are raised on native grasses year-round, the way it was meant to be.
When the time comes, they are humanely field harvested and delivered to a local processing facility. We offer quarters, halves and whole carcasses seasonally.
BEING AROUND THESE
MAJESTIC CREATURES IS OUR
PASSION.
Raising buffalo is our passion, we love what we do. Although raising buffalo means a great deal to us, it also means a great deal to our planet. By allowing them to feed and roam the way nature intended, they are single-handedly restoring our prairie land to it’s natural state. As the bison graze they are aerating the soil and dispersing seeds, helping the native grasses continue to replenish and flourish. The grasslands are important because they provide natural habitats for other animals and insects beyond just the buffalo.

MEATS & OTHER PRODUCTS
At Kremer Buffalo, our buffalo are strictly 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, as well as antibiotic and hormone free. Only grazing on their natural grasslands also guarantees them to be 100% organic and GMO free.
The most noticeable difference between grain fed and grass fed is the fat color on the meat; it may/will have a yellow tint to it. Age also influences the fat color. Often the color will begin changing during the second or third year. This is from the carotene in the grass. It is proven that there are many health benefits to grass fed meat vs. grain finished.
