Surprisingly Soft and Seriously Warm

Just picked up the newest run from Nester Hosiery this week...

These have been re-gauged, and are now running perfectly true to size (other than the smalls... those are still from the last run, and still a bit large)

These are the softest we have ever seen these socks, have a new finishing "steam tumbling" process that makes these things truly amazingly soft.  Feel better than ever before.

Our Trekker Boot Socks are our heaviest, most insulating, and most wicking sock. We’re sure these are likely the warmest socks on the planet. Well, the warmest that aren’t electric but they are silly and pretty impractical!  They are quite thick and stout.

Trekker Boot Socks = Workhorse Gear

Designed to be your go-to extra heavyweight boot sock, our Trekkers are extremely thick, quite soft, and well built. Created with ultra-soft bison fiber, these socks are thicker and more cushioning than our Pro-gear socks. We use only properly processed bison fiber that is 100% free from stuff that will make the socks itchy or abrasive.

Our Trekkers feature a terry loop padded footbed and are over-plaited in the toe, heel, and slightly up the leg to make sure your feet will be comfortable all day long.

Despite the extra cushioning and tough construction, these performance designed socks are intended to be worn with footwear. They are not intended to be worn as house slippers. You certainly can, but wearing them on concrete and abrasive surfaces will impact wear.

Sock choice should match your boot’s construction for the best comfort and performance. Fitted boots work best with snugger socks. A close fit prevents the sock from bunching or rubbing, which reduces blisters. It also adds minimal bulk so the boot closes properly and lets the boot’s structured shape provide support.  Unstructured boots like traditional mukluks pair best with looser, thicker socks. The extra room inside the boot creates insulating air pockets for warmth while allowing good circulation — essential in cold weather. This loose combination matches the soft, roomy design of mukluks and makes it easy to add or remove layers as needed.  Match the sock’s snugness to the boot’s fit and your feet will stay more comfortable with fewer hot spots or cold toes.

Trekker Boot Socks are awesome, but don’t just take our word for it!

We gave a pair of our Trekker boot socks to survival expert Leon Pantenburg, and here is his review

Trekker Bison/Merino Boot Sock Features

Sock Sizing

Socks should fit as comfortably as any other garment. The heel should rest on your heel—not under it (as with a sock that’s too small) or halfway up your Achilles (as with a sock that’s too large). The sock should be snug against your foot with no sagging fabric. The toe seam should lie flat across the top of your toes.

Sock Heel at Your Heel
The heel of the sock should sit directly on your heel, not above or below it.

Flat Toe Seam
The toe seam should lay flat along the top of your toes, not above or below them.

Taut Across the Foot
Socks should fit snugly across your foot without any sagging material. If you wear wide shoes (E+), consider sizing up. If you wear a wide shoe size (E+), consider sizing up.

Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

Own a pair/bought pairs for my sons/duck hunting - AND HIGHLY recommend!

Own a pair. For duck hunting/fly fishing/ANY COLD WATER WADING - these are THE BOMB! End All for cold water wading socks. Recommended them to my Project Healing Waters (Vet Fly Fishing org) group. Friend bought 3x pairs for a March Michigan (blizzard conditions) fly fishing trip. Said it was the first time her feet didn't get cold! Also bought 3x pair for my sons to use for duck hunting. Rave Reviews all across the board!

Socks

I went from Darn Tough's T4050, which is their heaviest weight socks composed 79% of wool and 21% synthetic, to BWC's Trekker Advantage socks composed of about 70% wool and bison blend and about 30% synthetic which is the comparable heavy weight. I don't have central heating and went from freezing to death like I was barefoot during night, to actually being warm despite the composition allegedly being less in % of warm stuff- this bison stuff is quite powerful... The shape is much better- much wider toe box and you can spread them where Darn Tough's just chokes you, same sizes compared, a lot more comfortable.
I don't know yet about durability just starting to test this stuff out, I follow the same washing routine as with DT- wash when salt deposits get too bad 😄.

Best wool socks. I have alot.

These are rhe best wool socks. I tried many brands including Darn Tough. These are much more comfortable, breath better sweat less. I work construction in the teens. I wore with a breathable sneaker and these still did the job. Wore with a winter boot and feet didn't sweat like Darn Tough or other tight fitting brands. Worth the $

Best socks ever

I love these socks! They keep my feet very warm in cold Minnesota winter weather! They don’t hold stinky foot smell so I can wear them a couple days at a time between washing! Perfect cold weather socks!

Great Socks!

Both my wife and I wear these socks and we have come back to buy more! We live in the cold Minnesota climate and spend 2-3 hours outdoors every day and these socks have proven to be both extremely warm and durable. We highly recommend them. They are worth the money!!

It was a great Christmas gift.

I bought a pair of Trekker socks as a Christmas present for my mother, she has really enjoyed the socks, they're comfortable, and instead of having to wear 2 layers of socks going outside, she's now just wearing the bison ones doing farm chores in the winter of Minnesota.

From Alaska to Texas!!!

Met these guys at the Alaska State Fair and saw their products! Ordered for Christmas, the Trekker socks, gloves and Ultralight short socks for my wife who despite living in Texas is always freezing with ice cube feet. Incredibly comfortable and the sizing chart is very accurate! She has battery heated socks, but very much prefers her new Trekker socks which are warmer without the hassle of charging and the weight of the batteries. First time her feet have ever been warm!!! She also absolutely loves the Diamond ultra light gloves! She traditionally can't find comfy gloves that fit, but loves those!

These folks have great products and great service. We even ended up ordering more socks and 20 lbs. of the bison fiber soil amendment for our garden. Talk about the ultimate soil additive!

We highly recommend this company and their products! A lot of love goes into what they do! Heck, I even read their newsletter, lol!

Thanks Theresa and Ron!!!!

Perfect fit

I was worried that my small feet would be swimming in them, however, if you follow the size chart they have, you will get the perfect fit. They are warm, and keep my feet dry. I love them and highly recommend them!

WARM & COMFORTABLE

Really comfortable and warm. Not bulky but still thick enough and comfortable in the calf area. I plan on purchasing a pair of wool felt pads for extra comfort.

TREKKER - ADVANTAGE GEAR BOOT SOCKS

I have Raynaud's syndrome - a condition where blood vessels, in fingers and toes, narrow excessively in response to cold. Management focuses on avoiding cold and staying warm. So…. I have over a dozen of every kind of sock; wool, alpaca, synthetic, and your Trekker. My TREKKER - ADVANTAGE GEAR BOOT SOCKS are BY FAR the warmest, durable, and comfortable sock of my collection! No more purple toes with my Trekkers!!!!! Thanks.
