Seriously warm - Surprisingly soft

Large should be restocked by Mid/End of August.

We created a sock from Bison down and silk that will keep your feet warm and dry all winter long. When summer comes, don't worry, they will also provide dry cool comfort in hot environments, with superior moisture regain properties, and exceptional air-flow almost double the wicking of fine wool. (keeps your feet dry and sweat free)

Exceptionally durable for outdoor activities, long distance running, hold up strong for eighteen holes, or just knocking around town in your sneakers. These socks are incredibly easy to care for and due to their antimicrobial properties, feel free to wear them a few times before washing. But when they do need to be cleaned, simply machine wash on the warm or cool setting, then toss them in the dryer.

We very carefully remove all the guard hair, and scour the fiber so it is soft, cuddly and very very warm.  No prickly itch from these socks.

The shorter brother to the Pro-Gear Technical Boot Sock. A terry loop cushioned footbed, vented and structured instep for smooth fit...but crew height. A nylon over-plaited toe and heel for added strength where you need and want it most.  8" rise (on average)

Features:

  • Terry loop cushioned foot bed
  • Vented side
  • Flat toe seam
  • Reinforced toe and heel, nylon over-plaited
  • 8" rise from heel
  • The bison on the toe indicates the size (photo shows a large); small-brown, medium-yellow, large-blue, xlarge-red.

    Sock Sizing

Socks should fit as comfortably as any other garment. The heel should rest on your heel—not under it (as with a sock that’s too small) or halfway up your Achilles (as with a sock that’s too large). The sock should be snug against your foot with no sagging fabric. The toe seam should lie flat across the top of your toes.

    Sock Heel at Your Heel
The heel of the sock should sit directly on your heel, not above or below it.

    Flat Toe Seam
The toe seam should lay flat along the top of your toes, not above or below them.

    Taut Across the Foot
Socks should fit snugly across your foot without any sagging material. If you wear wide shoes (E+), consider sizing up. If you wear a wide shoe size (E+), consider sizing up.

    Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

    Cold Wind...Toasty Toes

When the weather dips below freezing, I start wearing these socks out and about and in the house as well. Very comfortable and warm...great boot socks and as a bonus, they cut down on chafing. Love them...

So Good I Had to Share

Got these for my parents, they hate the cold and are moving out of Florida. Their remarks: “wow, it’s like someone is hugging my feet.” And “it’s instantly warm, these are my special socks.” I have these socks too, I wear them in Alaska year round. Helps preventing cracked, dry winter toes!

    Excellent socks

These are absolutely the most expensive socks I've ever purchased.
However, they are absolutely the best socks I've ever worn.
I bought a new pair of boots, JK boots.
They are super tough, stiff, hard af to break in boots lol.
Also, they are very slightly big on me. The uppers should of been tailored in a bit more. They do fit so whatever.
I bought these med weight socks, both to try and fill the boots a tiny bit more, and also to try them out. After all the boots are Bison leather, so why not right?
    Best decision I've ever made.
These literally made an amazing difference and made these boots fit better. They took all the parts of the boots that were kinda noticeably uncomfortable, and completely eliminated ever hot spot.
The boots are still breaking in, but these socks made it both possible (to wear all day comfortably) and surprisingly comfortable to break these boots in.
I gain nothing from a positive review here. I rarely even review items. These are very much worth the price.
They are not to thick, nor to warm (they have warmer and thicker). The leather is like skin and very breathable. These socks complement the features of a good boot in all aspects.
Very good quality product built by people who def get it.
    Thank you.
I will def be back for more in different styles.

    Disappointed

Sorry for the late review. I am greatly disappointed with your Bison/silk socks. I don’t find it extraordinarily warm and now using it only intermittently there is a whole in one sock.

Thank you for your input from your purchase in 2019, and understand that this product may not meet everyone expectations. This is a natural fiber that is designed to capture your body heat, not create it.
We do provide darning kits made of the same yarn that your socks are knitted from. If something happens catch or cut your socks, repairs are easily made while the hole is small vs a large one.

    Better than Stinky Feet

I wore my socks on a motorcycle tour and just for experimental reasons I wanted to see how long I could wear the same pair. I got to 4 days of riding in 95+ degree riding for > than 8 hours a day. Even after day 4 no stinky feet but they were taking on the shape of the boot so I gave in and changed. 3 pairs for 12 days was indeed sufficient. Perfect for optimizing room. The comfort was superb and no sweat foot!

Bison Socks will be my ‘Go To’ socks 👍🏻 No More Buying from Stores

I still have my socks on as the weather changed from being really warm to a very brisk ‘cold’. The Sun is out, but the weather is a brisk cold today... I’ve come to the recognition that my Bison Wool socks to be an equivalent to a good pair of hiking boots... 😃

I am/was absolutely amazed! This must be the most comfortable pair of socks I’ve ever wore! The versatility in temp control was wonderful. They DO NOT itch. You, yes you, stop wondering if this will be a beneficial purchase! It’s an investment that starts to pay out the first time you don the socks!!! Thanks Buffalo Wool Co. #buffalowoolco

    Best. Socks. Ever

These are soft, comfortable, and breathe very well. I have neuropathy as a consequence of chemotherapy, and even my mostly numb feet feel better in these socks. They're the most comfortable I've ever worn.

I don't know how they do it. Lightweight and so much warmer than wool (sorry sheep, American Bison have you beat).

    Warm!

The most important factor in selecting the socks was the warmth factor. I love that they can keep my feet toasty. Also they are durable - I have another pair from several years back that are still going strong. These socks don't wear out like others.

    Repeat customer

I have gotten these for my husband for at least the past 5 years. He wears them until they're threadbare, and a three pack is generally all the socks he owns. They say they last longer if you cycle them and wash them more often, but try telling that to this mountain man. He won't wear anything else. He'll get through snowy winters in these socks and tennis shoes, no problem. These socks are nearly indestructible, breathe great, and never smell. No problem when they accidentally go through the dryer, too.

    best socks ever!

These socks are by far the very best socks you can own. They have superiour odor resistance, wick away moisture and can be worn multiple days without needing to be washed. They also keep your feet comfortable REGARDLESS of the season! Truly are the best socks ever and the ONLY socks I wear.
