By William T. Hagan.

Hagan is one of the pre-eminent authorities and author about the American West.  He has authored no less than 8 volumes for the Oklahoma Western Biographies series.

This 1997 presentation of Roosevelt does run counter (as the author points out0 to the oft thought image of TR as "anti indian".  Not necessarily so, but all need to participate and cooperate .... or as with most thing he did ... "else".

Bringing in the rest of the "cast of players" that interwove that timeframe with interest and integrity brings a broad perspective to the topic.  I am all in favor!

So well researched.  So well documented.  That is Hagan.   I am a big fan of all he does.

(and we have a reasonable collection of books on Roosevelt as it pertains to (1) bison; (2) western American history; (3) the original American Bison Society.  Take a look at those, too)
