"A Chronical of the American West" By Marjorie Catlin Roehm
George Catlin is, by far, my favorite early American Western artist. His simplicity and ability to capture large scenes without overwhelming either the eye or the brain takes me right to the place he is depicting.
That said, I was hoping to get more insight into his beliefs from this book. To some degree I did, but there is a lot in here that I think could have been omitted without loosing anything but bulk. Still, it did most of what I was looking for - insight into Catlin. Worth (most) of the time.
Good clean copies of this book.
