WU-1           Essays on Texas by Larry McMurtry.  1968.  Signed by the author.  Limited edition of 250, printed on Artlaid paper:  with slip case.  Excellent, near pristine, condition.

Hand signed by McMurtry (or so we are all lead to believe even though we were not physically there!!)  but since the print number is not filled in, no really telling if all 250 were printed or not.  Several of the high end sellers indicate that no more than 100 were actually printed .. I don't know.

However, this is the "real deal"; from a South Texas rich guy's collection, auctioned off .... and I got lucky on this one.  Most folks more interested in bits and spurs.

There are copies currently (November 2024) for sale on some of the book sites for up to $9,000.  Several in the $6000 range.  Same exact book!  Average price is around $2500.  Did not find any for less!  Just saying!!  It appears to be a heck of a deal if you are at all interested

Two things to note.  First, while it is set up with a space/place for the limited edition number (see picture below), that space is blank.  Next is that the 3rd and 4th pages of the introduction (xiv and x) are uncut…. So that they cannot be read, yet.  I will do a bit more looking to see whether to cut them apart or not.  See the last picture.

Last couple pictures are "stock images" off a large booksellers site .. just because they show more than I could with my phone pics.
