Material Composition

Here at The Buffalo Wool Co., our yarn bases for all our gear is (and will always be) natural fibers. This means that the internal structure of your socks (the parts that touch your skin) will be made from bison fiber, merino wool, mulberry silk, and other 100% natural fibers.

The overall composition (the parts that touch your skin plus everything else) will include other materials like nylon or polyester. This is done to make the sock more durable and ensure that your socks work (and play) as hard as you do.

Bison Headband

I cannot comment on mine as it has been to warm to wear ir. I can give feedback on the one I gave as a gift. She lives on the sisseton-wappeton reservation and she loves hers. Sadly I can only give 2 thumbs up for the customer service. I would give more but I am handicapped and only have 2 thumbs.

Love the Softness

I wear this nearly every day this time of year. We have not had the really cold weather yet so I'm able to wear this daily. I love the size that it covers my head, not too much or too little. I love the color and softness of the material. It stays in place, covers my ears, and doesn't get too hot like a hat would.
Thank you for providing quality products.

Soft & warm

I love all things bison-related & added this to my order. I wear it if it’s slightly cold because it looks good while functional. It’s soft so it doesn’t irritate my skin.
So glad I got it!

Bison Blessed

I gave this to my wife. We live in AZ. It was Christmas morning and 75 degrees so my wife was freezing. She put this on and we forgot about it. We ate delicious ham, played monopoly with the kids (I smashed them) and Grinch Clue. The sun set upon our house and nary a word was spoken about the brisk 90 degree weather. It was 7:30pm, well past our regular bed time, when my wife looked at me and said “I haven’t been cold all day.” It was like the heavens opened and angels sang down. The warmth around her ears and toes (we got socks also) had saved Christmas like Rudolph on that one foggy Christmas Eve. I looked at my wife and said “The bison stays on tonight” while giving her a wink. So yeah, we did what married couples do after Christmas at 8pm - went to sleep it was lovely.

Warm yet Elegant and lightweight

This headband is beautiful and very warm. I sit at my desk coding all day, and I no longer have to have my little heater on during the cold spells. I wear this headband, BWC fingerless gloves, BWC socks and on occasion my BWC scarf, and I am toasty warm without a heater. Thank you BWC for helping me save on my heating bill. LOVE your products! ♥️🇺🇸🦅 Also it is very lightweight and stretchy yet does not overstretch! I have an extra large brain housed in there 😉 and my headband bounces back to original size every time.

First Beanie that has kept my head warm

My wife bought me the Ribbed Bison Beanie for Christmas. I am bald so in the winter wear a beanie often. I have a few depending on how cold and windy it gets. I have 2 wool and 2 think acrylic beanies. This is the first one that has kept my head warm when it has gotten into the low 20’s and when it has bee windy with those temps.
My head does get a little scratchy with it as again I have no hair. But by far the wamest beanie I have ever warn. I still love my merino wool beanies but this will be my go to on the cold mornings and days. Highly recommend. And the quality is top tier!

So soft

The grey cable headband I purchased for our daughter for Christmas is a gem. It is warm, but light. Small, but stretchy. It is perfect for the cold wetness of a DC winter. Quite the find.

light and warm

This headband is a little thin compared to the one we lost. Was hoping this was a little thicker but this is still better than traditional wool headbands. Wish there were more color options.

Soft warm and essential

Heard about the Buffalo Wool Co. while watching Wings and Wheels YouTube. We are about to head out on our own adventures and I need to keep warm. I bought the headband and socks and they are so warm and comfy. Not scratchy or stiff. I love them and I will definitely be ordering more to come. Thank you! Also, thank you for the wonderful customer service! Made my purchase even better.

Very warm-when it stays put!

I'm sure it's just my weirdly-shaped head, but the only way I can get this wonderful headband to stay on my head is to wear it under a hat. That works well anyway because the color turns out to be very unflattering to someone with my coloring. But it is very warm and soft. Glad I got it!

This is a wonderful headband, and so so warm!

I got a bucket list trip this past spring to volunteer at the Iditarod in Willow, Alaska. Being a Montanan, I figured I'd be ready for the weather, but I was surprised when I got there! LOL Luckily, I had seen a post on one of the Iditarod facebook pages about Buffalo Wool Company, and I quickly placed a last minute order! They were so gracious to make sure my order got to me immediately, and I was so prepared for my days in the arctic weather! Willow got a foot of snow the day of the start, and a couple of feet the days before. No one had seen a start day with so much snow in many years!! My feet NEVER got cold that entire day! People were constantly taking breaks to go get warm, and I lasted all day between my wool socks, wool boot liners, wool headband, and Extreme Gear gloves! I am so happy with my purchases and am still using them now in Montana! I wore my wool boot liners all summer and winter in my hiking boots and really loved them! I highly recommend Buffalo Wool Company ANYTHING!!!
