How to Find Your Hat Size

  1. First, get yourself a tape measure made from a flexible material like cloth, fabric, or bendable plastic.
  2. Wrap the tape around your head, making sure you measure above your ears at the area where you prefer to wear your hat.

Although it is a matter of personal choice, a good spot to measure is the widest part of your head, as that’s where a hat often fits the best. When you get a measurement, consult the charts above to figure out your size.

Sizing Tips:

  • Measure several times to ensure you’re getting an accurate measurement.
  • Don’t pull the tape too tight; you always want to err on the side of having a little too much room.
  • If you fall between two sizes, we strongly recommend that you choose the larger in the interest of comfort.
  • Head sizes and shapes differ from region to region. The most common male size is 7-3/8 and the average hat size for females is 7-1/4

This is the best hat I ever bought.

I bought this mainly for hiking in the Pacific Northwest and mucking about in the rain feeding chickens and the like. Well, enter snow storms. I've been out in blizzard-like conditions over the last couple of days, and this hat has been a godsend. Waterproof. Stays on. And incredibly warm. It obviously doesn't really keep your ears warm like a beanie type hat, but in temps around 20˚ - 30˚'s, I have found it helps keep me so warm, my ears have not been cold.

I went out in the middle of the night, in blizzard conditions, to deal with my frozen well. This was the hat that went with me, on snowshoes, in the dark, 30 - 40 mph gusts of wind, and 15 mph sustained, blowing snow. It kept the snow out of my face, my head warm, and helped keep the wind off me.

I. Love. This. Hat.

Loved this hat, until it was stolen

I bought a dark brown version of this hat at the Taos Wool Festival several years ago, and got compliments everywhere I went. It was really nice and warm, and I wore it all winter for one winter before it was lifted from my car in Austin. I thought of it today, while we're in the middle of the polar vortex with lows in the teens here in central Texas, so I decided to try to find it. I really miss it. Looks like the dark brown is no longer available, however, and this one is not available in XL.

Love this hat.

I bought this hat for an upcoming winter backpacking trip, plus loved the look. I had never seen it in person so you could say I bought on faith and based on the reviews I read. It arrived quickly and once I saw it and put in on my head, I've worn it almost daily. Love the hat. It's comfortable, it's warm, it's a great rain shelter and it just looks good. It's brim is just the right size and the overall sihloutte is perfect. I own 2 Stetsons but I fear they'll get little use now. Can't wait to wear while camping.

Great Hat. Amazing Customer Service.

I ordered a hunter crushable hat for my father for Christmas. The wrong hat arrived (understandable with the madness before Christmas). I emailed them at 7:50 pm and received a response at 7:57 pm with apologies and a new hat was sent out ASAP. My father loves the hat. Great hat, great company.

Love this Hat!

Had ordered the Palo Duro but sent it back - just the wrong size and wrong style for me (even though I measured), but the Hunter in a size small is MY HAT. Love the style, the fit, the feel - it's just a great all around hat for my needs.

BEST. HAT. EVER.

I wrote a review when I first got the hat but thought I would write an updated one since I have been wearing it regularly. This hat is still as awesome as when I first opened the box. It’s been crushed, rained on, and gotten some good use in the past few weeks. When I got caught in the rain it kept my head dry and the rain beaded up and slipped right off. Did I mention how good this hat looks? Yep, it really is the perfect hat. I followed the measurement directions and ordered a medium which fit perfect. I can honestly say this is the best purchase I have made in a very long time. I am not a shopper and rarely buy new but I will be buying again from this awesome company.

Very Comfortable All Weather Hat

I wore my new crushable hunter to the family ranch in Missouri for a deer hunt. The weather started out quite warm in the upper 60s, turning colder with rain and wind into the upper 30's over a 5 day period. My hat was comfortable in all conditions and handle the mist and rain very well. Didn't get hot in the warmer weather and was great in the cool wet weather. At times, due to the winds though , I would have liked a chin strap. Super hat.
