New For 2020:  The Appaloosa

What color is an Appaloosa?
The coat color of an Appaloosa is a combination of a base color with an overlaid spotting pattern. The base colors recognized by the Appaloosa Horse Club include bay, black, chestnut, palomino, buckskin, cremello or perlino, roan, gray, dun and grulla. Appaloosa markings have several pattern variations.  From Wikipedia

Unique is hard to scale... We took a risk, and did something kinda nutty to create something really different and kinda awesome, a weathered, heathered, western hat that looks like it has a story to tell, We debated on taking individual pictures of each hat. But with 144 pieces, it would be unwieldy and unnecessarily complicated for a lot of reasons. The truth is when we came up with this idea, we planned on taking them to our "in-person" events, well, we all know how that played out.

Palo Duro Cowboy Hat is a Litefelt® packable cowboy hat, made from 20% bison fiber and 80% domestic wool, blended to create a unique, durable, stylish and soft hat. How to Find Your Hat Size

      1. First, get yourself a tape measure made from a flexible material like cloth, fabric, or bendable plastic.
      2. Wrap the tape around your head, making sure you measure above your ears at the area where you prefer to wear your hat.

Although it is a matter of personal choice, a good spot to measure is the widest part of your head, as that’s where a hat often fits the best. When you get a measurement, consult the charts above to figure out your size.

      Sizing Tips:

      • Measure several times to ensure you’re getting an accurate measurement.
      • Don’t pull the tape too tight; you always want to err on the side of having a little too much room.
      • If you fall between two sizes, we strongly recommend that you choose the larger in the interest of comfort.
      • Head sizes and shapes differ from region to region. The most common male size is 7-3/8 and the average hat size for females is 7-1/4

      Great hat

The only problem with this hat is the amount of good compliments I receive on it. I even like the looks and fit.

      Pali Duro Hat

The Palo Duro hat is the greatest! I am a nature photographer and wore it in my artist’s booth 2 weeks ago. Temperatures at 88 degrees and I stayed cool as a cucumber! Can’t wait to wear it when it is cold! Plus, the Palo Duro hat is great to look at! It is well worth the money!

      Happy Hatter

After returning my original hat order due to sizing, Buffalo Wool Co. were great to work with. Promptly received my smaller sized Appaloosa Hat and it not only fits perfect (originally ordered a large and way to big - I would say they run big). I am thrilled with the style. First time out in town, I had two compliments on my hat. Love the lighter color I received second time. . .much more “Appaloosa” in the shading then the brown. Will be a long time customer, Thank you. PS love my short socks too.

      Palo Duro: Appaloosa Hat

I can't believe how quickly I received my hat. Couldn't wait to put it on and it fit perfectly! I love the color, the feel is so soft yet sturdy. I can tell this will be a hat for a lifetime! So glad I was able to grab one before they were gone!

      Unique find

I purchased one, was impressed and bought an extra for me, one for my wife, and one for my granddaughter. Always stock up when you find a find.

I love this hat - no I won't share it.

This hat is lovely and beautiful and comfortable. The hub likes it too, but he can't have it, it's mine. I am not sharing.

      Great quality, minor sizing issue

Very high quality hat. Somehow I expected a more mottled appearance, based upon site pics, but what I received is perfectly fine. I did need to get some hat sizers to achieve the fit I like, but my size is toward the lower end of the range for the size ordered . This is not the first time that I've needed them. Delivery was very quick, and overall the experience was just as good as any of my interactions with BWC have been.
