Excellent Co! Excellent Fiber/Yarn!

I purchased the Leather and Lace Fingerless Mitts Kit at a fiber event from The Buffalo Wool Co. Excellent purchase. Love the quality of fiber and hue of yarn. The pattern was downloadable. Easy to follow.

Love the yarn, hate the pattern

Love the buffalo/silk yarn - smooth, silky, keeps great stitch definition, easy to work with. Downside: too easy to separate/split the 2 strands of yarn. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
The pattern for the fingerless mitts is awful - poorly written, mistakes (chart doesn't match what the written instructions say), confusing directions. And no, it is NOT just "cultural differences" (the designer is Canadian). I have done many patterns by Canadian designers, loved them & had no problems understanding them. This one was is in desperate need of a good editor!

leather and lace mitts

I just finished knitting these and so enjoyed the pattern and yarn! I can't wait to give them to my daughter for Christmas. Looking forward to my next project.
See you next year at the Rhinebeck Wool Festival!
