Life is better at Sunset! We are a small bison ranch located just off I-80 in Central Iowa. Our herd of 40+ consists of breeding cows, bulls, yearlings and calves. We produce high quality animals for live sale. Our onsite retail store is stocked with a variety of bison meat products as well as novelty gifts only found at our ranch. We also offer a vacation rental cabin and soon will have two “glamping” covered wagons for nightly rental.
Our main goal at Sunset Hills is to bring the public to rural American farms! With our focus is on agritourism and increasing the National Herd number of Bison across the United States. We love to educate children and adults on bison, rotational grazing, native prairie restoration and the workings of row crop farming.
Here at Sunset, you can come for the day or stay for the weekend. No matter how long your trip, we trust you will leave here with a new found fascination with America’s National Mammal.

We just learned about your bison ranch from our nephew who recently stayed in your cabin with his family. We are wondering if you have facilities for staying over with a camper van? We belong to a group called Harvest Hosts and have stayed on other farms, vineyards, breweries, etc. as we travel around the country. We would love to visit your ranch the next time we travel through Iowa.
